The Lady's Old

While thousands wrote and
worked and rhymed
and turned out good material,
Friends only listened for a time;
editors wouldn't go near it.

Now this OLD LADY about NINETY and NINE
or maybe even EIGHTY
Scratched out some words
that hardly matched,
but some say they are Weighty.

The President of I-S-P has
made a nomination
Requesting her to read her stuff
in the Capital of the Nation.

To add to that, a cassette tape
in which her poem is included.
She also gets a MERIT AWARD
and a pin of 10 - carat Gold,
BUT I TELL YOU, THE LADY'S OLD.
